About Me
This puppy is “pine-ing” for a forever home! Would you believe us if we told you that Douglas has been in our program since November? For some strange reason, this happy-go-lucky boy keeps getting overlooked. Originating from Animal Care Services in San Antonio, he initially arrived with a whole litter of brothers and sisters. Douglas has been patiently waiting for an adopter to look his way, but he has since become a beloved part of his foster family’s pack. He loves playing with their dogs, cuddling with their 10-year-old daughter and gently taking snacks from their hands. Everyone in his household is impressed with how smart he is, as he has been quickly learning and obeying commands like “sit” and “come.” He is also potty-trained and crate trained, with great leash manners. Douglas isn’t one to stray far from his people and has a loyal, eager-to-please personality. In the evenings, he enjoys cuddle time and will sometimes whistle in his sleep! “Deedee! What are you doing in my laboratory?!” 👨🔬 I may not be a scientist, but I like to consider myself somewhat of a genius. If I’m not spending my days working on my mastered tricks, then you can find me hanging out with my friends. I just LOVE playing with my fellow canine companions, even if my intelligence is far superior. 🧠 Humans are another great option to keep me company. Young or old, I don’t have a preference as long as someone is providing me with the attention I deserve. A good game of fetch in the yard accompanied with a brisk walk through the neighborhood are my personal favorite ways to get my cardio in. Douglas is one happy-go-lucky pup hailing from Animal Care Services in San Antonio. This boy is the last one left from his litter, who has no problem hanging with the big dogs at his foster home, and likes cats, too! He is nearing perfection with his potty training and crate well at night as long as he gets his nightly “cookie” before bed. He is incredibly lovable and will be difficult to give up, according to his foster mom! Douglas is hilarious and spunky, with puppy antics that will keep you on your toes. One of his favorite games, for example, is stealing a shoe and making a run for it. Despite his mischievous nature, this boy does correct quickly with a firm “no.” He also knows “potty” during outside time, and recalls with “pup-pups, come!” This smartie pants is incredibly food motivated, too, so he is bound to master tons of other commands by adulthood. He isn’t one to stray far from his people and has a loyal, eager-to-please personality. In the evenings, he enjoys cuddling with his sister and will whistle the night away.
