About Me
Like all Chevys are finding new roads, I’m trying to find my forever home. Hi there! My name’s Chevy and luckily for me, I found myself at SNIPSA with some really nice folks that were willing to help me. I was originally found by a Good Samaritan who scooped me up after finding me near a busy intersection. Pretty rattled at first, it only took me a couple of weeks to adjust and now I’m absolutely thriving. My rescuers have been very patient with me since bringing me into their lives, and I’ve quickly learned that I prefer laying in soft, cozy beds and playing with toys much more than dodging cars. I also love running around in the yard with the other dogs at my foster home, and I even use the doggy door! While still getting the hang of my leash, I crate perfectly and catch on to new concepts very quickly. According to my foster parents, I am incredibly gentle and don’t have a mean bone in my body. I’m still a little shy, but love back scratches and giving kisses. I’m turning into a real cuddler and will wait for you on the sofa so we can watch all of your favorite shows together.
Now, as an Australian Cattle Dog/Corgi mix, it’s important for a pup like me to get some exercise! Most folks know that Australian Cattle Dogs were working dogs originally bred to herd cattle, so they benefit from having a job to do. However, did you know Corgis were actually bred for the same exact thing? So, it is safe to assume that I would do well in a home that can offer me daily walks and continued training. Update on Mr. Fish Stick!!!!🐈🐈 🙏🎊🙌Just a little over a week ago, this sweet kitten was found with a significant wound to his belly and had a difficult time bearing weight in his rear legs. He most likely had a run in with a dog that left him the “undercat.” We sewed him up, started him on antibiotics, and provided cage rest to heal his broken pelvis. Now this little hero is running around as if nothing ever happened – batting around his collection of stuffed mice, basking in the sunshine, and eating like a champion. There’s a reason for the adage that CATS HAVE NINE LIVES!!! Fish Stick wasn’t about to “disappoint.”
