About Me
“When you’re lost in the darkness, look for the light.” If you’re searching for something to brighten up even the darkest of days, one of these eight pups will surely fill that role. Found wandering the streets of Lytle, Texas, our “The Last of Us” litter surely knows what it means to endure and survive! Since their arrival at SNIPSA, these kiddos have overcome so many obstacles already. This survival squad has learned to ration out their meals so that everyone gets the same amount, and they figured out that if they huddle together while they sleep, they’ll stay extra warm. Plus, they even find time for playtime in a post-apocalyptic world! We believe these doggos to be Blue Heeler mixes, so you can expect them to keep up during all of your outdoor escapades. Just keep in mind that a higher-energy pup will require an early start to their training, as well as plenty of physical and mental exercise! “Deedee! What are you doing in my laboratory?!” 👨🔬 I may not be a scientist, but I like to consider myself somewhat of a genius. If I’m not spending my days working on my mastered tricks, then you can find me hanging out with my friends. I just LOVE playing with my fellow canine companions, even if my intelligence is far superior. 🧠 Humans are another great option to keep me company. Young or old, I don’t have a preference as long as someone is providing me with the attention I deserve. A good game of fetch in the yard accompanied with a brisk walk through the neighborhood are my personal favorite ways to get my cardio in. Douglas is one happy-go-lucky pup hailing from Animal Care Services in San Antonio. This boy is the last one left from his litter, who has no problem hanging with the big dogs at his foster home, and likes cats, too! He is nearing perfection with his potty training and crate well at night as long as he gets his nightly “cookie” before bed. He is incredibly lovable and will be difficult to give up, according to his foster mom! Douglas is hilarious and spunky, with puppy antics that will keep you on your toes. One of his favorite games, for example, is stealing a shoe and making a run for it. Despite his mischievous nature, this boy does correct quickly with a firm “no.” He also knows “potty” during outside time, and recalls with “pup-pups, come!” This smartie pants is incredibly food motivated, too, so he is bound to master tons of other commands by adulthood. He isn’t one to stray far from his people and has a loyal, eager-to-please personality. In the evenings, he enjoys cuddling with his sister and will whistle the night away. So, if you’re looking for a rescue who is sweeter than sap, add this pine pup to your pack!🐶🐾❤️
