Rescue Tails
In late July, we received an urgent call to help save several dogs from the euthanasia list, and among them was Ginger, a senior Chihuahua. Although much of her background remains a mystery, it’s believed Ginger had little human interaction and was left to fend for herself. When she first entered foster care, she struggled with house training and seemed unfamiliar with what it meant to be a pet. Despite this, it was clear from the start that Ginger wanted to give and receive love, and with time, she began to adjust.
Ginger needed someone patient and understanding, someone willing to teach her how to trust again. After lots of interest and a few unsuccessful applications, Ginger finally found her perfect match. The Fitzgerald family discovered her at a Woof Gang adoption event and instantly knew she was the one. With three other pups already at home, they were excited to welcome her into their family—and Ginger was truly lucky to join such a loving pack! The Fitzgeralds described themselves as an adventurous family, frequently traveling and exploring new experiences, and they couldn’t wait to share those adventures with Ginger.
Her new family shared, “She loves the dog park adventures and has become my little shadow.” They added, “She enjoys standing on the hill, watching all the dogs play,” and concluded, “It’s been an adjustment, but she’s doing great!”
There’s no doubt that Ginger’s new life is now filled with the enrichment, love, and care she always deserved. We are happy you found each other!
