She’s a Tejano sensation who has stolen the hearts of everyone at SNIPSA! That’s right–the one and only SELENA is in the building! This darling Doberman and her five puppies were initially rescued by Animal Care Services and swiftly transferred to our rescue. Immediately, she and her tiny tunes revealed themselves to be superstars. This group of musical mutts is confident, friendly and oh-so-happy! Selena, just like her musical counterpart, has a big, brilliant smile that never falters. She greets any new person with gentle exuberance and a wagging tail. So far, we have learned that she knows to do her business outside, she walks well on her leash and she doesn’t seem to mind the company of cats or other dogs. As a three-year-old “Dobie,” this sweet singer has already reached her full size, though she may put on a few additional pounds now she’s found some stability. That said, Doberman Pinschers are well-known in movies and TV for their muscular, trim build and sleek appearance. Historically bred to be guard dogs, they are also often praised for their high intelligence and trainability. They are loyal, affectionate and driven in whatever task they are trained to do. As a result, they make excellent candidates for obedience, agility and other dog sports. In Selena’s new home, we know that she will thrive with daily structure, exercise and of course–plenty of LOVE! We’ll do anything for Salinas, and so should you! This girl typically starts her day in a snuggle puddle. Her favorite foster sibling to curl up with is miss Lena. Lena is also available for adoption through her foster, Mimi!
Next, it’s time to eat a nutritious breakfast (not pictured 😜).
Then, Ruffles catches a few morning sniffs in the backyard with the rest of her foster siblings. A sploot in the grass always follows.
The last stop for Ruffles is SNIPSA’s adoption event! Catch her at @wgbalamoheights from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. She will be sporting her favorite pink bandana and a smile! 💞

FRIDAY FEEL GOOD STORY!!!🎊🐩🐕⭐️ Remember our beloved Lady, the Chihuahua that has been battling a systemic case of mast cell tumors. Well she is still living her best life after being diagnosed with this crummy disease nearly 9 months ago. While we haven’t been able to find her a forever adopter, we do have a team of warrior fosters that have poured their heart and soul into caring for this special doggo making sure she gets her daily meds and makes it to her monthly vet appointments. Special thanks to the doctors at Animal Cancer Center of Texas that have provided encouragement and quality care over the last several months. We are grateful to every soul and cheerleader that has lent a helping hand.

This past Saturday, several helping hands joined to transport Henry all the way from 📍 New Albany, OH to 📍 Olmos Park, TX. We had made a plea for a “doggy caravan” on social media—and you guys delivered!!
Four kindhearted people, a handful of egg bites, a stop at Micky D’s, several potty breaks, and roughly 1,330 miles later…and Henry was back in the hands of his SNIPSA foster family. ✨ Shoutout to Christina, Patti, Sandy and Cherri for assisting in each leg of Henry’s journey. We can’t thank you enough for your efforts in getting this big, lovable lug home safely. ❤️
