3 Reasons to Adopt An Adult Cat

Adult cats often get overlooked in favor of kittens, but they have just as much love (and way less chaos) to offer.

Here are 3 reasons to adopt an adult cat:

1. What you see is what you get: No surprises. You’ll know exactly what kind of companion you’re bringing home.

2. They’re lower maintenance: Older cats are litter trained, less destructive, and less likely to climb your curtains at three A.M. They’ve moved past the high-energy kitten phase, so you get to enjoy their calmer, more settled side.

3. They adjust faster than you think: While kittens need lots of socialization and attention, adult cats often settle into their new homes quickly. Many have lived with people before, so they understand routines, household sounds, and how to be a great companion.

Many adult cats are in shelters through no fault of their own, like a change in family circumstances. They’re just waiting for a second chance. With a little time and care, they’ll form deep, lasting bonds with their new forever family.

Missy

Missy’s journey is one of hope and second chances. She was rescued from animal care services just before facing the potential heartbreaking fate of euthanasia. Thankfully, her devoted foster caregiver saw the spark in Missy and welcomed her into their home while Missy was in the care of ACS. With endless love and encouragement, they shared Missy’s incredible story on social media, capturing the hearts of many along the way.

Now, let’s dive into some fun facts about this sweet girl! Missy arrived at Animal Care Services as a stray, which means we don’t know much about her past. But what we do know is enough to make anyone fall in love with her! Cuddling is definitely her love language! She adores snuggling up with her humans, making every moment spent together feel warm and special. Missy is house-trained, so she’s all set to be a perfect indoor companion. And let’s talk about treats… this girl is a serious connoisseur! Whether it’s a crunchy biscuit or a tasty chew, she’s always ready for snack time. Her previous foster really gave her a chance to shine, showering her with love and showing off her charming personality. Now, with her heart full of hope and a tail that wags with excitement, Missy is ready to find her forever home. She dreams of meeting her perfect family—one that will embrace her cuddly spirit and spoil her with all the treats she can handle. If you think Missy just might be the girl for you, submit your application today!
