3 Reasons to Adopt An Adult Cat

Adult cats often get overlooked in favor of kittens, but they have just as much love (and way less chaos) to offer.

Here are 3 reasons to adopt an adult cat:

1. What you see is what you get: No surprises. You’ll know exactly what kind of companion you’re bringing home.

2. They’re lower maintenance: Older cats are litter trained, less destructive, and less likely to climb your curtains at three A.M. They’ve moved past the high-energy kitten phase, so you get to enjoy their calmer, more settled side.

3. They adjust faster than you think: While kittens need lots of socialization and attention, adult cats often settle into their new homes quickly. Many have lived with people before, so they understand routines, household sounds, and how to be a great companion.

Many adult cats are in shelters through no fault of their own, like a change in family circumstances. They’re just waiting for a second chance. With a little time and care, they’ll form deep, lasting bonds with their new forever family.

Pet of the Week

Tuna Turner

What’s love got to do with it? A lot, apparently!

It was pure love and compassion that led to this sassy singer’s rescue. Tuna Turner was a street cat that was picked up by a local animal advocate. This caring human brought her into SNIPSA with the intention of finding her a proper home. Once we met Tuna ourselves and got a glimpse of her sweet personality, we knew she was destined to be domesticated!

Tuna is an affectionate, strong-willed, and frisky feline! Just like her namesake, she exudes fierce confidence with every pawstep. She’s not afraid to stand up for herself, but once she feels comfortable, she is quick to show you her soft hear (and soft paws!). Lately, Miss Turner has been loving morning cuddles and lounging next to her foster while she works on her crafts. While she’s been getting used to being around other animals in the SNIPSA office, she’d be more comfortable as the sole star in your life. We see the perfect “parallel play” partner in your near future! Whatever you’re up to, she’s always got your back, and with her beautiful long fur and “orange charisma,” she’s just Simply the Best!

Not even a year old yet, Tuna’s impression in your home will last through the ages. So, if you’re ready to jam with the undisputed queen of Rock n’ Roll, apply to meet her today!
