Our largest fundraiser of the year is approaching faster than a red-hot pair of roller skates! Register, sponsor the race, or volunteer to help further SNIPSA’s life-saving mission!
Adult cats often get overlooked in favor of kittens, but they have just as much love (and way less chaos) to offer.
Here are 3 reasons to adopt an adult cat:
1. What you see is what you get: No surprises. You’ll know exactly what kind of companion you’re bringing home.
2. They’re lower maintenance: Older cats are litter trained, less destructive, and less likely to climb your curtains at three A.M. They’ve moved past the high-energy kitten phase, so you get to enjoy their calmer, more settled side.
3. They adjust faster than you think: While kittens need lots of socialization and attention, adult cats often settle into their new homes quickly. Many have lived with people before, so they understand routines, household sounds, and how to be a great companion.
Many adult cats are in shelters through no fault of their own, like a change in family circumstances. They’re just waiting for a second chance. With a little time and care, they’ll form deep, lasting bonds with their new forever family.
Every time you make a donation to SNIPSA, you are directly contributing to an animal’s care in our program. Click the button below to view our donation options. One of our rescues will THANK YOU!

Pepita is a Friday afternoon miracle who arrived just in time. When a SNIPSA staff member spotted her at ACS with a painful hind leg, it was clear she couldn’t be left behind. Pepita had apparently been struck by a car and sustained a degloving injury (significant skin loss) to her rear ankle area and a broken foot. She convalesced at the local shelter for almost a month, receiving bandage changes, antibiotics and pain management. Before long, she won the hearts over of her caretakers and was eventually transferred to SNIPSA for further care.
She may have arrived in a hurry, but she has spent every moment since teaching us the beauty of slowing down. Now safe in her foster home, this sweet girl has officially embraced her true calling: the art of the professional nap. While her leg continues to mend, Pepita’s spirit is soaring, proving that a little injury can’t dampen a heart as loyal as hers. She is a medium-sized master of the afternoon siesta, looking for a dedicated partner to join her in a lifetime of synchronized snoring. She loves to prance and explore sniffing out every corner of our office. If you’re looking for a soulful companion who values a soft blanket and a quiet cuddle above all else, Pepita is ready to retire into your arms. Apply to adopt this resilient girl today!
