You ain’t nothing but a hound dog!!! Well, in the case of these two boys that’s true! Meet Copper and Enzo, two Basset Hounds who are on the journey to their new forever homes. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, these boys were owner surrendered through no fault of their own. So far, they have proven to be potty trained, crate trained and highly food motivated. They love following their humans around and they get along well with fellow canines. Despite their short legs, don’t mistake these two for “small” dogs. Weighing in at about 50 lbs each, Copper and Enzo are some hefty dudes! These boisterous boys are true to the Basset Hound nature as they don’t have much energy to spend before they crash into their sploots for a nap. They are also sure to let out their iconic bays during their zoomies, so we hope your neighbors don’t mind! In 2024, rescue reached new heights at SNIPSA! ✨
We exceeded our numbers like never before, with 956 animals adopted and even more rescued. Many of these animals entered our program with heartworm disease, mange, nursing litters, broken bones, or other preexisting conditions. 💉🩻🐾
SNIPSA also provided a total of 3,355 spay and neuter surgeries. Out of the animals fixed, 2,566 received their surgery for free in an effort to reduce the homeless animal population in San Antonio. ✂️
We broke records and healed hearts this year. 💗 Thank you for your ongoing support as we enter 2025!

Double the paws, double the love! Meet our pet of the week duo: Reecee and Lizzy! While they are not a bonded pair, these two love to play and cuddle in their shared foster home. 🐾💜
Miss Reecee, fondly known as Reece’s Pieces, was rescued back in June of 2022 with her mom and littermates. She is a special cat who, despite her tough start, lives each day with joy and curiosity. Now, you may notice she is missing her tail, but she definitely doesn’t lack in personality! 🐈⬛✨
