Our events are fast-paced and fun! From adoption events to puppy yoga to The Big Fix, there are many opportunities to get involved with our mission. It's all hands on deck here at SNIPSA, so grab your friends and sign up.
EVENTS
Our SNIPSA volunteers dedicate their time giving to the animals in the community because they believe in what we do. Each year, we rescue over 1000 animals from dire situations off the streets and from local animal shelters. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, and microchip
more than 2600 animals residing in low income areas of town that would otherwise continue to reproduce and contribute to San Antonio’s huge stray population. We do all of this because of YOU, our volunteers, and we can always use more hands on deck!

EVENTS
We always need help in our office during the week. Our needs vary, so the ability to “go with the flow” is important. Tasks include bathing and walking rescues, cleaning crates and tools, data entry, marketing support and more.
IN-OFFICE HELP
We recognize that children under 14 years want to be philanthropic and that not all parents have the ability to volunteer with their children. As a result, we’ve created a few activities that kids can do at home or school to contribute to SNIPSA and earn volunteer hours!

We always want to be supportive of kids with a giving heart. We have a few volunteer opportunities for children, but ask that both the child and parent/legal guardian complete a volunteer profile. The parent or guardian must accompany the child at all times.

Our group volunteering opportunities allow for corporate or organizational groups to assist with events for SNIPSA. Volunteer groups are typically groups of 10-15 people that volunteer for 2-hour shifts or longer. Volunteer groups operate on a first come, first serve basis, and fill up quickly.

Meet Mister Green Jeans - our sweetest boy recently rescued from a local shelter with a deep wound to his chest. He is receiving daily bandage changes using honey which is a fantastic natural salve to help wounds heal. In between bandage changes, he received a much needed bath and is feeling frisky and ready for Easter. We are wishing our boy a speedy recovery and hoping he finds the Golden egg this weekend!! 🐣🐇 🥚🐾🐕✝️ 🐕🦺🎉

On Saturday, April 12th, hundreds of people gathered with their pets at St. Mary’s University for a common cause – to reduce the homeless animal population in San Antonio.
With a dedicated team of veterinarians, technicians, volunteers, SNIPSA staff and responsible pet owners, we were able to spay, neuter, vaccinate, and microchip 515 animals in need. ❤️ We say it often because it’s true: We couldn’t help the thousands of pets we do each year without your support, compassion, and commitment. Thank you! Thank you! And thank you AGAIN!! 💪

Looking for a tiny slice of heaven? Zoey is our favorite little angel. This tiny girl was saved from euthanasia at a local shelter at the ripe age of twelve years old. Then, she lived with a loving owner for several years until they sustained a hip injury, rendering them unable to care for her. Now at 15 years old, Zoey is seeking a home where she can rest her old bones and finish out her golden years. 🙏🐶😇
Zoey has come out of her shell rather quickly in her foster home and likes to follow around her human friends when she isn’t sleeping. Yup–despite her cataracts and stiff legs, Zoey loves to be in the middle of the action! She also appreciates tasty snacks and the occasional play session, though she can be cautious about being picked up. Given time and the opportunity to bond with a new owner, we can see her as the perfect chi-companion. 💗🐾

Saturday, April 12th, was definitely one to remember. We are still waiting on the final count of all the cats and dogs we were able to spay and neuter, but in the meantime we wanted to thank all the staff, veterinarians, vet techs and volunteers who put in long hours and hard work!
