Feral Community Cat
Program (FCCP)

The Feral Community Cat Program (FCCP) is a new program geared toward reducing the population of unhoused cats in San Antonio. Community cats are defined as the unowned stray or feral cats who live outdoors in our neighborhoods. San Antonio citizens can humanely trap these cats and make an appointment to bring them to SNIPSA for a free spay/neuter, vaccines, and an ear notch. The cats can then be safely returned to the community 24 hours after surgery.

** An ear notch is a universal symbol for “trap, neuter, release”, aka TNR, and is REQUIRED.

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • The cat must reside in the city of San Antonio.
  • The cat must live strictly outside.
  • The cat has no owner (no collar, tags and/or microchip).
  • The cat appears to be healthy and is a healthy weight.
  • The cat is at least 3 pounds.
  • Each cat must be brought in a humane trap or secure carrier for everyone’s safety.
  • If bringing multiple cats, please limit ONE cat per humane trap or secure carrier.
  • All cats must be returned to their original colony after their 24-hour recovery period. Dumping cats is ILLEGAL!

Please note this appointment request is for TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) for feral community cats only. All cats will receive an ear notch.

If you are planning to rehome or domesticate the cat, please fill out our low-cost spay/neuter request form here.
