Feral Community Cat Program (FCCP)

The Feral Community Cat Program (FCCP) works to reduce the unhoused cat population in San Antonio. Residents can humanely trap community cats, bring them to SNIPSA for a free spay/neuter, vaccines, and ear notch, then return them to the community 24 hours after surgery.

Criteria for Eligibility:

Each cat must be brought in a humane trap or secure carrier for everyone’s safety. If bringing multiple cats, please limit ONE cat per humane trap or secure carrier. All cats must be returned to their original colony after their 24-hour recovery period. Dumping cats is ILLEGAL!

Please note this appointment request is for TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) for feral community cats only. All cats will receive an ear notch.
If you are planning to rehome or domesticate the cat, please fill out our low-cost spay/neuter request form here.

Furthering Our Cause

By offering the FCCP program in conjunction with San Antonio Animal Care Services, we can help control the population of community cats in our neighborhoods. If left unaltered, community cats can reproduce at an alarming rate. The average cat has 1-8 kittens per litter and 2-3 litters per year. Sadly, street cats also face starvation, dehydration, trauma, infectious disease, exposure to extreme weather, and sometimes, death.
The more cats we can “fix,” the fewer we have suffering on the streets or entering our city shelters. To date, we have sterilized about 31,000 cats and dogs at SNIPSA, and we don’t plan on stopping!
