Ready to welcome a new pet into your life? You've come to the right place! SNIPSA is dedicated to find the perfect fit for each of our rescues. Since we are not a standing shelter, each animal resides in a foster home so that they can receive the care and socialization needed to help them transition into yours.
Please browse our adoptable pets and consider placing an application to adopt. Applications are answered in the order they are received within 72 hours. Once your application is approved, the foster parent will reach out to you to coordinate a meet and greet with your new potential family member!
Adoption fees vary depending on the type of pet you would like to adopt. Puppies start at $300, adult dogs start at $250, and cats start at $150.
Our adoption fee includes a veterinary exam, microchip, spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, dewormers, fecal, heartworm test (dog), FeLV/FIV test (cat), monthly preventatives, and a complimentary bag of Science Diet. The goal is to provide optimal care to ensure your pet is ready and healthy for its new home.
*Please note: Animals that have received additional non-routine medical treatment have a higher adoption fee.
Looking for a tiny slice of heaven? Zoey is our favorite little angel. This tiny girl was saved from euthanasia at a local shelter at the ripe age of twelve years old. Then, she lived with a loving owner for several years until they sustained a hip injury, rendering them unable to care for her. Now at 15 years old, Zoey is seeking a home where she can rest her old bones and finish out her golden years.
Zoey has come out of her shell rather quickly in her foster home and likes to follow around her human friends when she isn’t sleeping. Yup–despite her cataracts and stiff legs, Zoey loves to be in the middle of the action! She also appreciates tasty snacks and the occasional play session, though she can be cautious about being picked up. Given time and the opportunity to bond with a new owner, we can see her as the perfect chi-companion. If you’ve got a heart for seniors and a cozy bed to spare, please apply to adopt dear Zoey.

Meet Mister Green Jeans - our sweetest boy recently rescued from a local shelter with a deep wound to his chest. He is receiving daily bandage changes using honey which is a fantastic natural salve to help wounds heal. In between bandage changes, he received a much needed bath and is feeling frisky and ready for Easter. We are wishing our boy a speedy recovery and hoping he finds the Golden egg this weekend!! 🐣🐇 🥚🐾🐕✝️ 🐕🦺🎉

On Saturday, April 12th, hundreds of people gathered with their pets at St. Mary’s University for a common cause – to reduce the homeless animal population in San Antonio.
With a dedicated team of veterinarians, technicians, volunteers, SNIPSA staff and responsible pet owners, we were able to spay, neuter, vaccinate, and microchip 515 animals in need. ❤️ We say it often because it’s true: We couldn’t help the thousands of pets we do each year without your support, compassion, and commitment.
