So many of the sick and injured end up at the shelter – and ultimately into our care – and this was the case for sweet Gigi. We suspect she was hit by a car or sustained some sort of trauma which resulted in a broken jaw. The good news, though her injury is quite painful, is that it is easily fixable. A wire was placed behind her canine and passed through her mandible to secure the fracture. She is now eating soft food and recovering like a champ. Gigi loves her foster family and is such an easy patient to care for. She will nap on her pillow for hours then wander up for a snuggle. She does beautifully with other dogs and is simply a delight to have in the house. Gigi will make a quiet, grateful companion for any sized abode. As she continues to heal, more of her personality may emerge. For now, she is seeking an owner who can be patient with her and offer her the love she has been missing out on.
Gigi’s adoption fee is slightly higher to help offset a portion of her surgery costs. If you are looking for a lifetime friend – don’t pass up on this girl! She is a diamond in the rough!
