I’m sure you’re wondering how I may have stumbled across a name like Mellow Yellow? Well, maybe not. It actually should be fairly obvious with my yellow appearance accompanied by my meek and mild demeanor. My life before being rescued was not the easiest. I was originally found emaciated, hot and hungry with blistered paws. Thankfully, the nice people of Atascosa Animal Allies were able to rescue me. I am a bit shy around new folks, but I promise I’m a loving girl. In a compassionate and patient home I could really show you just how strongly I can bond. In my former foster home, I slowly but eventually came out of my shell. It wasn’t too long before I showed just how much I love to play, especially with other dogs! I’m not much of a fan of those feisty felines though. As a Labrador Retriever, you won’t be surprised to hear how much I enjoyed running around the acreage at my old foster home. I also really enjoy toys and I am quite content romping around the yard with one in my mouth! Keeping this in mind, it is important to note that I would benefit from a home with lots of room and an active lifestyle. Once I’ve tired myself out though, I like to lay on a cool floor for my afternoon nap. Once trust is gained, my absolute favorite thing in the world is snuggling. After I lean on your legs or your shoulder, I just might flop to the ground for belly rubs to follow. To make your life easier, I am already potty trained AND I know how to use the doggie door if you have one! I am extremely food motivated and I promise with plenty of patience I can blossom into the best companion. I’ve been through a lot, but that will only make me more grateful for my forever home. SNIPSA joined forces with San Antonio Animal Care Services this morning to spread the word on responsible pet ownership! 🧡
Volunteers and staff went door-to-door and passed out supplies and information to pet parents in need. Donations included dog bowls, leashes, harnesses, blankets, and 100 dog houses! Our SNIPSA team provided information on the importance of spay and neuter, and our Big Fix Clinic on April 12th. These clinics provide pet parents with the opportunity to have their animals altered, microchipped, and vaccinated free of charge. More information can be found at SNIPSA.ORG/THE-BIG-FIX. 🐶🐈
