In early Spring, two tiny tan kittens were brought into SNIPSA’s program. Elvis Purrsley and sister Purrscilla, just weeks old at the time, were sick, experiencing GI upset, and needed treatment. After a long day of leading surgeries, one of our dear veterinarians saw the twins in the office and learned they were still in need of a foster home. Instantly falling in love with their sweet faces, she took them home right away, giving them a comfortable place to stay for the next few nights and the best care they could get. The kittens’ photos were posted on the SNIPSA site—and that’s where Michelle, a mom from Cibolo, comes in.
Michelle had originally discovered SNIPSA through another kitten’s profile, but in her words, “unfortunately—or perhaps fortunately, as it turned out,” that kitten was adopted before Michelle had the chance to fill out an application. Thankfully, that didn’t deter Michelle from her search, and she continued to check the SNIPSA site, despite feeling overwhelmed by the search for the perfect pet. “What kept me with SNIPSA,” remarked Michelle, “was the kindness and responsiveness of the staff—especially Christine, who went above and beyond to help me find the right kitten for our family.”
Not long after, Virginia, one of SNIPSA’s kind and faithful foster moms, reached out to Michelle about Elvis Purrsley and Purscilla. “She shared photos and videos, which gave me a wonderful glimpse into their personalities,” said Michelle. She specifically wanted to adopt a kitten from a foster home, praising how foster families truly know their animals inside and out: “I knew [they] would be loved, socialized, and cared for, which gave me great peace of mind.”

Just a few days later, Michelle met Elvis and Purrscilla at a SNIPSA adoption event and fell in love. Because her family was searching for a boy kitten, she ultimately chose Elvis––and he had a new home and a new name within the afternoon.
“Milo—also known as Elvis Purrsley—fit right into our home from day one. He was comfortable immediately, as if he had always belonged here. Milo is playful, curious, and full of energy. He loves being wherever the people are and follows me from room to room throughout the day. Whether I’m working in my office, cooking in the kitchen, or relaxing in the living room, Milo is never far away. Once he’s tired from playing, he curls up under my chin, purring nonstop—a sound that never fails to make me smile.
Milo is what many call a “rainbow pet.” We lost our beloved Maltipoo, Molly, in January, and the grief has been difficult. Molly was my constant companion, and I miss her deeply. Along with missing her, I missed having a pet by my side. Milo has brought joy, laughter, and companionship back into our home. While I adore him as a kitten, I’m also looking forward to watching him grow and building an even stronger bond together.
We’re still getting to know Milo and adjusting to life with a kitten, but he has already proven to be a wonderful addition to our family. He knows his name and comes when called. He loves attention and would happily accept it 24 hours a day! His favorite treat is a Churu, and he recently discovered the joy of sitting in the window, watching the birds gather around the feeders and water stations outside.

I would absolutely recommend adopting through SNIPSA. The adoption process was simple, and everyone I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely invested in finding the right match. I also appreciate that they offer free spaying and neutering services, which is a tremendous help financially. We are so grateful for the care and support we received and, most importantly, for helping us find Milo.”
Milo, now fully recovered as a happy and healthy kitty, is thriving out in Cibolo with his new family. He may not be called Elvis Purrsley anymore, but he’s still the King of Rock and Roll-ing around. Thank you to our surgery doctors and the Neal family for graciously taking in Milo and helping his rockstar aura live on! Seeing how he’s settled in so well, we can confidently say this was a purrfect match.
