Dylan and Bonita, two inseparable street pups, were found in downtown San Antonio in December 2025, vulnerable yet remarkably friendly. Just a month after taking them in, Dylan and Bonita’s kind caretaker passed away unexpectedly, and a family friend stepped in to continue feeding and playing with the dogs. They frequently traveled across the city to visit Dylan and Bonita, who were then living together in a backyard, before taking them to SNIPSA for their respective surgeries and vaccinations. Their temporary caretakers had animals of their own already, and every boarding facility and shelter they checked was already at capacity. Desperately wanting these affectionate pups to get the second chance they deserved in a place they knew would be safe, they turned to SNIPSA.

Now official members of our adoption program, Dylan and Bonita have returned to SNIPSA to find their forever homes! This unexpected friendship between little and big, terrier and labrador, won over our hearts in the blink of an eye––and their personalities keep us falling deeper.
