Lark’s story started right here at SNIPSA. He was born in our office, and we’ve had the privilege of watching him grow from a tiny puppy into the handsome, joyful boy he is today.

Lark has spent his life making friends. He greets every dog with a wagging tail and pure excitement, wins over everyone he meets, and carries himself with that perfect mix of puppy playfulness and gentle sweetness.

He’s the kind of dog who wants to be involved in everything you’re doing—whether that’s going for an adventure, playing in the yard, running errands, or simply curling up beside you at the end of the day.

The only thing missing from Lark’s story is a person to call his own, a couch to claim, and a home where he never has to wonder what’s next.

Did your dog just have a spay/neuter surgery at SNIPSA? 🐾✂️❤️

Here are a few aftercare reminders to ensure a quick and successful recovery:

1.        Keep your dog’s cone on for 10-14 days after their procedure! This is the standard time required to prevent them from licking or chewing their surgical incisions.

2.        Your dog may seem groggy and nauseous—this is normal. Keep them confined to a warm, quiet place and offer small meals to get them back into their routine. 🛌

3.        Avoid excessive running and jumping, with NO swimming for at least two weeks. Limit and supervise any interactions with other pets. Rough playtime is a no-go! 🐕🚫🐩

4.        Make sure to administer all medications as prescribed to promote your dog’s healing and overall well-being.

5.        Check your dog’s incision daily for signs of infection: redness, discharge, swelling, and wound opening. Keep in mind that it does take at least seven days for incisions to heal and mild changes are expected.

6.        Never give aspirin, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or other human pain relievers to your dog. This can be dangerous and result in serious injury or even death. ⚠️

7.        If your dog experiences any complications related to surgery, please call us at (210) 237-9400. If you are unable to reach us, please visit your own private veterinarian in the event of an emergency.

8.        Last but not least, give your dog all the love he or she deserves. They just underwent a major surgical procedure, so it’s prime time to be babied! 🥰
