This kiddo was initially part of a litter of eight that was rescued with their mama, Miss Texas. After a few weeks, this handsome guy is the last one left from his pack! Jalapeño is a loving little guy who is described as a “big baby” by his foster mom. He has a curious, social temperament and is always ready to tell you how he is feeling. We estimate he will grow anywhere from 30-50 pounds, so he will also be a great size one day! Jalapeño is your classic example of a “San Antonio Special,” but our best guess is that he has some Labrador Retriever and Border Collie mixed in. Both of these breeds are known for their intelligence and fun-loving attitudes. If you live an active lifestyle or have children, this pup might be the perfect addition to your home. Jalapeño loves everyone and fares well around other dogs. At his young age, he will adjust well to most home environments as long as you can offer an adequate amount of time, training and patience. Our vet tech, Tami, has been helping boost spirits and heal doggos with her colorful casts this summer!
Gil was taken in from @sanantonioacs on July 15th. X-rays revealed a fractured left rear leg, which, thankfully, will heal over the next few months in a splint. His first cast was covered in flowers and ladybugs, and his most recent one features a shining sun after a storm! 🐞🌦️
Henry was rescued by ACS after being presumably hit by a car, and made his way to SNIPSA on June 14th. You may recognize him from our viral video about his broken front leg. Henry received surgery at South Texas Veterinary Surgery (SVTS) to repair his break, and Tami has since made him three beautiful casts! These casts provide stability and protection so he can continue to heal. ❤️
