Look, I’ll be honest… going from the Watermelon Capital of Texas to a velvet sofa in rescue life was a bit of a culture shock.

Back in Luling, I was a rugged outdoorsman. By “outdoorsman,” I mean I spent my days inspecting backyard grass, dodging rogue pumpjacks, and maintaining my signature dust-and-burr coat. I was tough. I was independent. I was 10 pounds of pure Texas iron!

Then the Rescue Humans showed up.

At first, I was suspicious. They talked to me in that weird, high-pitched voice reserved for small, majestic royalty (which, fair enough). But then the perk package kicked in: the spa treatment, the cuisine, and ALL of the accommodations you can think of (air conditioning, soft beds, couches… you name it!).

I’m still adjusting to all these fancy city rules and bonuses. Like being held on a regular basis and belly rubs, but I think I’m going to like it here. If you need me, I’ll be buried under a mountain of blankets. By all means, take me away and show me more of what life has to offer.
