Down the hills and round the bends, Thomas and his friends! Thomas, he’s the cheeky one! You’ve definitely heard of Thomas the Train, but have you met SNIPSA’s Thomas the Tank? Surrendered by his former owner, due to medical complications, it was through no fault of his own that Tank wound up in a rescue. This handsome boy is nothing but a big pile of fluff and love. He is wonderful with children and other pets, so he would make a great addition to almost any family. As long as you are not a vacuum, he is happy to be by your side. Tank might be huge, but he truly is a gentle giant. He is the happiest when close to you as you complete chores or watch TV. As a Great Pyrenees, Tank is loyal, affectionate and well-mannered. At already three and a half years, Tank still values his toys and he is sure to swing his ropes around or flaunt his tennis balls to grab your attention for playtime. Due to his size and nature, Tank would benefit from a yard with plenty of space for him to patrol. Tank does not get on the furniture and is quite content sleeping on the floor next to your bed or against the couch. He also isn’t a fan of puffy beds and instead prefers thinner ones. Our vet tech, Tami, has been helping boost spirits and heal doggos with her colorful casts this summer!
Gil was taken in from @sanantonioacs on July 15th. X-rays revealed a fractured left rear leg, which, thankfully, will heal over the next few months in a splint. His first cast was covered in flowers and ladybugs, and his most recent one features a shining sun after a storm! 🐞🌦️
Henry was rescued by ACS after being presumably hit by a car, and made his way to SNIPSA on June 14th. You may recognize him from our viral video about his broken front leg. Henry received surgery at South Texas Veterinary Surgery (SVTS) to repair his break, and Tami has since made him three beautiful casts! These casts provide stability and protection so he can continue to heal. ❤️
We are so thankful for Tami’s kind heart and creative mind! 🎨 Additionally, we extend our gratitude to @sanantonioacs, STVS and our SNIPSA staff for coming together to change lives.
