About Me
You’ve heard of Cat Cyde or maybe Cat Stevens, but what about just KAT? If you’ve never heard of me, you’re missin’ out! I am a five-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who found my way over to SNIPSA after my owner passed away. While this recent transition has left me a bit confused and sad, I still have so much love to give. Would you believe it if I told you I’m actually the snuggliest dog in the program? All I want in my new home is endless hugs, kisses, belly rubs and chin scratches. Start petting me, and we’ll be FAST friends! Additionally, I enjoy showing off for a tasty treat or two. The staff at SNIPSA has learned that I know “sit” and “lay down” when food is involved! I’m a little over five years old, so who knows what other tricks I may know too?
With my carefree disposition and people-pleasing attitude, I would make a fantastic family dog. Honestly, the more people around to fawn over me, the better. Also, I seem to like other dogs, but I’m still learning my manners around cats! Other than that, I’m basically perfect. I’m potty trained, crate trained, leash trained and non-destructive. If you adopt me, I promise to offer you all the cuddles in return – During homework sessions, after walks together, during snack time… Heck, we could even Netflix and chill on the weekends! Douglas is one happy-go-lucky pup hailing from Animal Care Services in San Antonio. This boy is the last one left from his litter, who has no problem hanging with the big dogs at his foster home, and likes cats, too! He is nearing perfection with his potty training and crate well at night as long as he gets his nightly “cookie” before bed. He is incredibly lovable and will be difficult to give up, according to his foster mom! Douglas is hilarious and spunky, with puppy antics that will keep you on your toes. One of his favorite games, for example, is stealing a shoe and making a run for it. Despite his mischievous nature, this boy does correct quickly with a firm “no.” He also knows “potty” during outside time, and recalls with “pup-pups, come!” This smartie pants is incredibly food motivated, too, so he is bound to master tons of other commands by adulthood. He isn’t one to stray far from his people and has a loyal, eager-to-please personality. In the evenings, he enjoys cuddling with his sister and will whistle the night away. So, if you’re looking for a rescue who is sweeter than sap, add this pine pup to your pack!🐶🐾❤️

✨ BALLET UPDATE ✨
Our favorite little dancer is doing so much better! 🩰🐾 Ballet has made leaps and bounds since her first day at SNIPSA. It’s clear that she is feeling much more herself. Over the past two weeks, her personality has slowly revealed itself to be curious, spunky, funny and affectionate. Since she is being fostered by our adoption coordinator, Ballet has spent many days at the office making friends. She loves to make her rounds for attention and will visit every single staff member when she’s here. Ballet has even shown us that she has a voice, as she barked at another dog for the first time last week!
Tomorrow, our fabulous Frenchie will finally be ready to go home to her new family. Her adopter has been patiently awaiting this special day and has visited this pup several times since meeting her. Ballet has a whole new life lying just ahead. Three cheers to second chances! 💓🥂
